2006/5/22 My ImaginationDo you daydream? Of course you do, we all do!
Do you have a vivid imagination? I do! And I hope you do also!
Recently a friend of mine sent me some sketches. Beautiful pictures. Beautiful talent.
I asked if there was a story that went with them.
The reply was, the picture is suppose to be a story, hope you find one.
Well I did and here it is.........one thing though, I can not show you the picture, so you must use your minds eye and imagine! Also know that I am a hopeless romantic thru and thru!
~*~*~*~*~ 16th Century Fairytale Land ~*~*~*~*~
Since she was a small child she had the same dream, over and over again. She knew it was her destiny and waited to live it. The time was here and she was about to embark on something that would change her life forever. Whether it was for the better was to be seen.
As she stood on the deck of the ship that carried her to her destiny, she remembered her childhood and when they met. It now seemed so long ago.
The moment they met she knew he was different. He was beautiful and full of life and love for all that was around him. He shared the same love of nature as she did. They became instant friends and spent long sun filled days exploring the land that they loved so dearly.
As the time grew near for him to leave with his family they made a pact to always know how the other is doing. The bond that they had formed, they knew, would one day be more than just friendship. They felt it the first time they touched. They had a sense of each other, knew what the other was feeling and felt that, deep in their hearts. They were tied to one another.
They did write for many years. They became adults and their bond never became less. It grew with every year that passed and every letter that was written. But then the letters changed. She began to see a difference. The beautiful words that once graced his letters were now dark and empty. He had changed and she didn't know why.
She felt empty and her heart ached for the boy she met and the man she now loved. She must find out why he had changed. So she went to him.
As she stood on that ship, looking at the beauty of his land that was all around her, she saw her dream before her eyes. The dream of her childhood.....her Destiny! The mountains all around towering above the sea that now brought her to him. The village by the shore that he spoke of so often with love. The castle up on the mountain standing majestically and watching over everything. All were in her dream.
And the man standing up on the hill at the beginning of a path. A path that led where? To the Gypsy camp that he told her stories about? Of how he would sneak to their camp at night and watch them chant and sing around their fires. Intrigued and scared by all that was happening. Wanting to be a part of it, but knowing not to.
It was him, but not him. There was a darkness about him. Even though she was still far below in the valley their eyes met. She no longer saw the golden warmth in them that was there when they met. She only saw emptiness and a hint of pain and longing. As if he no longer had his essence of life except for maybe a small piece that was slowly dieing out. She needed to help him. She needed to once again find the man that is her Destiny.
He stood atop the hill and watched. He knew the moment she saw him. He still felt her and this gave him hope. He was a man torn between two worlds now and she was once his Destiny. Can she still be? He did not know. As he looked to the ships approaching he remembered a life he once had. A life full of happiness and love. A life that he feared no longer existed.
As he turned to retrieve his sword he was surprised to see the crow sitting atop the hilt of the sword. He has crossed paths with this crow before, always feeling a strangeness at those times. Was this bird a part of his puzzle to solve? Friend or foe?
As he went to take his sword the bird took flight. At that very same moment a beam of white light flashed from the village and rose to the sky. As both looked to the sky they saw an image.....a dragon, lying in his cave tossing around a bauble, a clear yet hazey globe. She could feel it, he could feel it, it held his essence of life....his light!
Now she knew that her Destiny was also his. For her to say the words she has longed to say to him, If aught must be lost, twill be my honor for yours.
If one must be forsaken, twill be my soul for yours.
Should death come anon, twill be my life for yours.
I am given.
she knew she had to save him.
This was the story I saw in those pictures.....I hope my friend finds it worthy of the scketches. I had fun imagining it!
